Who We Are
Founded on Gandhi Jayanti in 1989 and officially registered on 1st February 1990, the Bijapur Integrated Rural Development Society (BIRDS) has been at the forefront of rural development in Bagalkot, Karnataka. Our founder, Mr. Mahantesh Agasimundin, envisioned an organization dedicated to empowering.

Our mission is to promote sustainable rural development through inclusive socio-economic growth, ensuring that the most vulnerable families in rural communities are empowered and self-reliant. We believe in creating a future where every individual can access the resources they need to thrive.

Empowerment of Marginalized Communities
We are committed to addressing the needs of underrepresented and marginalized groups, including landless farmers, physically challenged individuals, and Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs). Our programs focus on enhancing their socio-economic status by providing access to resources, education, and opportunities for participation in local governance.
Sustainable Agriculture and Livelihoods
Our mission is to promote sustainable agricultural practices that improve food security and increase the incomes of small and marginal farmers. We strive to protect the environment while empowering rural families with the knowledge and tools they need to farm productively and sustainably.
Women’s Empowerment
We believe that true development cannot be achieved without the empowerment of women. Through various skill-building, financial literacy, and leadership programs, we aim to equip women with the resources they need to gain financial independence and play active roles in their communities.
Access to Education and Skill Development
